Eric Perderson specializes in psycholinguistics, semantics, typology, anthropological linguistics, and Dravidian languages. He currently has several works in press including: “The Kurumba Languages” in Encyclopedia of the Nilgiri Hills, "Cognitive Linguistics and linguistics relativity" in The Cognitive Linguistics Handbook, “Tamil spatial language” in The Grammars of Space, “Event Realization in Tamil” in Cross Linguistic Perspectives on Argument Structure: Implications for Learnability. Professor Pederson’s main research interest is the relation of language and language processing to general cognition. He conducts much of his research in rural South India.
