You will need to verify your English language proficiency is sufficient enough to successfully participate in your program and to function on a day-to-day basis. It may be verified and documented in one of the following two ways:
- a signed letter from your home institution stating that you are an employee at the institution, and English is the language you teaches , or conduct research or business on a day-to-day basis This is a sample letter; Please feel free to use it if it works for you. - an English language test score as proof of English proficiency, Minimum scores are based on undergraduate admissions standards at the University of Oregon. Please review the current UO requirements at: http://admissions.uoregon.edu/international/test-scores
Once I get all of this information, I will submit the papers to our office of International Affairs. They will issue the J-1 paperwork, which I will then send to you. Please let me know which address is best to use for Federal Express delivery.
